Here’s a wonderfully surreal animation from Tatsuo Sato entitled, Cat Soup.  The whole piece is about 30 minutes long (parts 2 & 3 are in the extended), but it’s very much worth a looky-loo for the wonderfully inventive graphics and tone.  Neat stuff all around.

3D viewpoint movement in animation ALWAYS impresses me.

Ever noticed when you were a kid how they’d throw 3D viewpoint movement in the opening animations of your favorite cartoon or in theatrical animation releases, but never right into the regular show?  Even as a kid I figured out it was probably not worth the trouble to the animators.
