How Not to Display Your Artwork on the Web

Over the course of the last 4 years or so, I’ve seen a lot of webpages, and the one genre of pages that I can’t for the life of me figure out, is the artist webpage.  My intense loathing of Flash driven sites is well documented, but I’m continually amazed at how often an artist’s portfolio page is an unnavigable exercise in ‘how the hell do I find the content?’.

Apparently, I’m not the only one who feels this way, as the excellent Lines & Colors blog has a great piece on ’How Not to Display Your Artwork on the Web‘ that should be a required read for any and all web-capable artists. Hell, it should be a required read for anyone who designs or implements content based sites.

Muchos gracias to Coudal Partners for the find.
