The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (circa 1910)

This 1910 film version of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (directed by Otis Turner) was based more off the 1902 stage play than L. Frank Baum’s novels, with changes such as Imogene the cow replacing Toto, and the familiar Scarecrow being met before Dorothy’s fateful date with the twister.

Baum (who had co-produced the hit Broadway version), had nothing to do with this film version (unlike a 1908 and 1914 film he had a direct hand in), but it’s certainly entertaining.

Now I totally want to watch The Wiz.
