Next year’s presidential election will surely be an interesting one, if for no other reason than the fact that candidates are all too aware of the effect that the Internet played in the mid-term elections.  While on one hand that means we’ll be treated to even less candor and forthcoming by candidates gun shy about even innocent statements being recut or edited and replayed ad nauseum on YouTube, it also means that candidates won’t be able to so easily escape their previous positions and gaffes.

Tech.Blorge has a nice roundup of clips that have made an impact so far, but my favorite has to be Mike Gravel’s bizarro spot (which you can see to the right).

So… YouTube and the elections.  Good or bad?
