Come and meet the Letter People

You know, one of my favorite aspects of finding posts for Transbuddha is how an offhand reference can send me off on a fast trip down an overgrown and neglected trail off memory lane. More often than not, I’m just as surprised at how much I still remember.

Like, for instance, The Letter People. A barely visible reference to The Letter People shows up on one of Transbuddha’s skyscraper ads, and the next thing I know, I have the damned theme song stuck in my head for the rest of the night. (A theme song I had not thought of nor heard in probably 20 years) So of course I have to share the love with this clip introducing us all to the real Mr. T.

If that’s not enough Letter People action, don’t worry… there’s so much more out there.

Oh wow. I had totally forgotten about this show, but sang along word for word with the intro as I played it just now. Why can I still remember that from when I was 5, but nothing from the Calculus classes I had in college?

I know, right? As soon as I saw a mention of ‘letter people’, I sang the theme song from start to finish, yet I couldn’t even give more than maybe two of my teachers’ names from High School.
