Rudy's Five Big Lies

You know, Iowa straw poll notwithstanding, I cannot for the life of me understand how Rudy Giuliani maintains such a high standing in the national attention, let alone as a presidential contender. For one, Joe Lieberman might actually be to the right of Rudy on most big issues, but what just kills me is Rudy’s continued mileage out of being the ‘tough on terror’ candidate.

The Village Voice has a great article detailing just how paltry Rudy’s anti-terror credentials really are, and it’s complete enough to make me wonder how it is that Rudy hasn’t been called to the mat by the major news outlets on any of this. It’s sickening enough that our public policy has been double-dipped in the memory of 9/11 for the last 6 years, but the idea that this guys has a shot at the big chair just because he stood in front of the cameras looking confident just floors me.
