King Corn

Here’s a documentary that’s definitely going on my ‘must see’ list: King Corn, the story of two friends who moved to Iowa, grow a bumper crop of corn, and then attempt to follow their corn as it makes its way across the country. I’m thinking it’ll be a bit of a goofier version of Michael Pollen’s chapter on industrial corn from ‘An Omnivore’s Dilemma’, and I’ve no doubt the film will just further my increasing paranoia about our food supply.

Thankfully, these kinds of stories need to be told, as agricultural remains an area where most of us remain woefully ignorant of its inner processes or its effect on us both personally, and as a nation.

A tip o’ the cap to Fresh Signals for the find.
