Child of a Red Sun…

Back in April, astronomers made an important discovery:

Gliese 581cScientists have discovered a warm and rocky “second Earth” circling a star, a find they believe dramatically boosts the prospects that we are not alone.

I’ll let MightyGodKing sum up why the cool bits:

1.) we have discovered another, Earth-like planet, potentially capable of supporting life;
2.) it orbits a red sun;
3.) it’s a larger planet, and the gravity there is stronger than it is here;
4.) it is twenty light years away, so it could have exploded nineteen years ago and we would only know about it next year.

Anyone want to take a guess as to why that’s so potentially awesome? Here’s a hint.
