I’ve been watching Dove’s marketing campaign since they released the excellent ‘Evolution‘ clip, which the cosmetics giant heralded as a sea change in how they’d market to their audience. The follow-up clip, ‘Onslaught‘ further drives home the notion that the current marketing of beauty to women is a damaging weapon by showing the unceasing barrage of sexual imagery young girls are bombarded with on a daily basis.
Currently the clip has been launched as part of the UK campaign. I wonder how long it’ll take to hit US shores.
Color me a late-to-the-party supporter, but having two daughters has certainly raised my consciousness regarding the unrealistic marketing of beauty to women. I just wish there was something more concrete I could do about it.
