Robert GouletBroadway and Vegas icon Robert Goulet died at age 73 yesterday while awaiting a lung transplant due to pulmonary fibrosis. For most of my life, Goulet was famous for… well, for being Robert Goulet mostly, and it wasn’t until fairly late in my life that I discovered that he started off as a phenomenal talent.

Sadly, there’s not much in the way of good footage of Goulet in his heyday floating around the internet so instead I’ll go with my favorite bit of late-period Goulet and just send you along to the Goulet’s Snooze Bars sight, which tied into the popular Super Bowl commercial from earlier this year.

G’night, Robert.

Hola, alphamonkey. Just a note to tell/remind you your Daddy-o interviewed Monsieur Goulet in the ’70s at Burbank studios in connection with the recovery of his Rolls Royce after it was stolen by one of his staff guys who drove it to Veags and cruised the Strip in it. Quite the gentleman Robert was, your Dad reports.
