Fantasia - Clair de LuneI’ve always loved Fantasia, both as a film and as a testament of how far Walt Disney was willing to go in order to elevate animation to something beyond kiddie fare. Considering it was the follow-up to Pinocchio and Disney’s 3rd full length feature, Fantasia’s release in 1940 was really quite ambitious.

Oddly enough, one of my favorite sequences wasn’t even made available until 56 years later, when this sequence for Clair de Lune was restored and released in 1996. While not as flashy as some of the Fantasia sequences, it remains a very lovely little piece.
