Director Mike Mills explores how the Japanese are coping with the modern explosion of depression with this short, ‘Does Your Soul Have a Cold?’
I saw this movie in Austin at the SXSW film festival. It was interesting. I asked a friend once what was the difference in people in the U.S. and her country the Philippines. She said that throughout all her travels to third world countries, Americans and British were the only folks she saw that suffered from depression. Thanks to the pharmaceutical companies, I guess that’s changing.
Just looking at this short trailer, it almost seems to imply that pharmaceutical companies are causing depression through ad campaigns. Was I the only one that got that impression?
