Sure it’s an outdated technology (due to be replaced in 2014 with the Orion), but I gotta say: I still love me some Space Shuttle action. Even after all these years, there’s just something about it that screams ‘space is cool’ to me*.

You know what really blows my fragile little mind? The idea that for some of the people in these photos, they wake up every day and think ‘Dammit. I gotta go work on the Space Shuttle again…’ with all the enthusiasm a disgruntled register jockey at Safeway. How weird is that?

*As previously noted, I’m kinda gay for space.

    i am also extremely gay for space, and saw these pics this morning elsewhere and thought to myself “man, i must be the only nerd in the world that still thinks this stuff is cool. i stand corrected.
