The Telegraph lists their 50 Best Cult Books – What? No Judy Blume?

This has already started hitting the US newswire but – Austrian man hid his daughter in the cellar for 24 years, fathering seven children with her. – There is nowhere near enough WTF in the world to cover this.

11 Signs You’re No Longer a Hard-Core Gamer – My own list would have to include ‘haven’t finished Twilight Princess or Super Mario Galaxy yet’.

Volkswagen’s 70MPG Diesel Hybrid – Aw, man.. Diesel? Still, not a bad looking car.

All about Starcade – I’ll confess I have no memory of this show, but pitting celebrities against video games? Brilliant! I mean c’mon, all the fun of watching someone else play video games, but with the added bonus of never getting a turn? How could that fail?

Starcade episode 127 has an old guy quaking on MACH 3. That game was the Qix of jet fighter games.

Argh. That idiot kid doesn’t know the difference between Defender and Stargate!!!! Hate Videogames…hates them!

Man, I blew so many quarters playing the sit-down version of Defender at the Torre’s Pizza in Westport. I’m trying to decide which I miss more: the game or the ridiculously awesome pizza.

If a book sells more then 50,000,000 copies as Dr. Spock’s Baby And Child Care book has, there is no fucking way on Earth it can be considered a cult book, at least not by any sane or logical thinking person, which of course leaves you alphamonkey, right out. Over half the books on that list can’t be thought of as cult books, simply for the reason that they’ve sold a bazillion copies apiece.

  • .alphamonkey.

Yes, because obviously I wrote that list. Well done, Sherlock.

You, alphamonkey are the one bleating and farting and getting all outraged because Judy Blume wasn’t on the list. Here’s a clue: she’s not a cult writer. She’s sold over 20,000,000 copies of her various and sundry works, ergo she doesn’t qualify. How fucking dense do you have to be not to understand that?

  • .alphamonkey.

Yes, my outrage just leaps off the page there. Well done on getting your context sensors reset to Bill O’Reilly levels. Did you pay someone to do it, or did you just up your dosage of dumbass?
