While the world waits in eager anticipation for the wonderment that will be Petri Purho’s Crayon Physics Deluxe, Alejandro Guillen (he of the Spin the Black Circle fame) stepped in to fill the void by providing the Flash based ‘Magic Pen‘, which is pretty much a slightly modded pre-release port of Crayon Physics Deluxe.
The premise (like the beautiful graphics) is simple and straightforward: Use your marker to draw the shapes necessary to get your red circle to the level flag. Circles are auto-drawn (whew, thankfully), while objects such as wedges, bridges, and the like are drawn by ‘hand’ with handy pins and hinges provided to link items or allow for swinging motion.
Normally I’d be very hesitant to promote such a blatant rip, but in this case I’m alright with it due to a) Crayon Physics being a download-only game, b) Crayon Physics is just a self-proclaimed ugly prototype, and c) it’s a hell of a lot of fun.
