Font Conference

You know, I don’t envy the fine folks responsible for College Humor’s original content. They’re working at one hell of a pace, and they bang out shorts on a schedule that most groups would just freak over, but I have to say… I’m a little underwhelmed by the output recently.

To illustrate, here’s the CHTV’s newest short, Font Conference. Clever enough idea, but it seems to fall into the ‘let’s just make jokes about popular culture/nostalgia/memes’ rut that’s plagued a lot of their work in recent weeks. This particular short (while having some highlights, Sam’s cameo moment especially), mostly comes across as a list that’s been acted out. And frankly, if I never have to suffer through a cliched-beyond-belief ‘France surrenders’ joke, I’ll be a happier man.
