In terms movies the world demands be made, I highly doubt anyone would consider a revisit to the Street Fighter universe high on the list, but apparently director Andrzej Bartkowiak writer Justin Marks have their ear to a parallel earth seeing as this February 27th will mark the cinematic debut of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Why don’t you roll this Japanese language trailer around your skull for a moment:
Michael Clark Duncan, Chris Klein, and Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas! Sign me the hell up!
Now I want you to take a moment and realize that this magnum opus comes from the man responsible for Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, and Cradle 2 the Grave. You can already taste the quality! There’s no wonder it’s being dumped onto cinema in February (aka the stinking shit-pile cinema release month), but what really shocks me is that Bartkowiak was the director of photography on some really astoundingly good films. So sad…
Considering the first Street Fighter killed Raol Julia, I shudder to think which actor will succumb to this sequel’s deadly embrace, but here’s hoping it’s Taboo. If it’s Neal McDonough, I’m killing everyone.
