It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Dutch West’s Josh Rubin, so word that he’s involved in another project is always good. Graduates is a 30 minute comedy pilot from Paul Gulyas, Patrick Beck, and Jorge Gonzalez III about grad students navigating the uneasy transition from hard-partying youth to responsible(ish) adults. A 30 minute self-financed pilot on the web is ambitious by any standard, but thankfully the results hold up. If nothing else, it makes a spiritual bookend to Judd Apatow’s sadly short-lived Undeclared.
