marvel-turns-70The House of Ideas is turning 70 (well, kinda – Marvel Comics in its current form only dates back to 1961, but Timely Comics, from which Marvel was born, began printing comics in 1939). To honor the occassion Marvel.com is celebrating 70 years of comic greatness (okay, and some lameness – remember Secret Wars 2, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, or Ron Marz’s run on Thor, Silver Surfer, or, well, anything?), and they’re inviting all of us to join in on the fun.

Check out the official 70th Anniversary page, enjoy the Fact of the Day, and take a gander at the Top 70 Countdowns where you can currently cast your votes for the top 70 Marvel Comics of all time (don’t forget – the first appearance of the Scarlet Spider occurred in Web of Spider-Man #118).
