Hollywood must truly be out of original ideas. Even the Coen Bros. are going the remake route. Entertainment Weekly is reporting the pair have plans to remake the classic John Wayne western True Grit (the film which finally won the Duke an Oscar). Early plans are to stay closer to the source material (the novel by Charles Portis) than the original film. This means we’ll also have to wait a little longer for the Coen’s proposed adaptation of Michael Chabon’s The Yiddish Policemen’s Union, at least until they’re finished playing in the old west.
