virusbattery-ed02Can you imagine a world where in idle conversation someone says to you (not joking), “My car? It runs on Cancer. Yours?”

Before you call shenanigans, know that researchers at MIT have created a new car battery that runs on viruses. Yes, those microscopic organisms that make you sick may be able to power your car and other devices. Each battery contains viruses which provide both the positively and negatively charged ions providing power at a low-low price (just hope you don’t get into a wreck and get Ebola all over yourself).
