dom-deluiseI was saddened to learn that Dom DeLuise passed away in his sleep at the age of 75. I have many remembrances of the man who provided constant laughter, even to himself during shooting. DeLuise worked in Hollywood for years doing several guest-spots on TV, including arguing with Ms. Piggy on The Muppet Show, and in a handful of memorable (both good and bad) moments on-screen including starring (in drag no less) with Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner in Haunted Honeymoon as well as showing up in a handful of Mel Brooks’ films. I’ll remember him most fondly for his role as Captain Chaos from that much maligned cinematic gem The Cannonball Run. The actor also lent his voice to several animated projects, for both film and television, wrote a series of children’s books, and in recent years he had shared his love of cooking on a syndicated radio program. Happy trails Dom, you’ll be missed. Dunt, dunt, Duuuunnn!
