in Comics!

marvelmanIn one of the biggest shockers of Comic Con Marvel Comics announced it had acquired the rights to Marvelman from creator Mick Anglo. For those unfamiliar with the character, long languishing in purgatory publishing hell due to legal battles over his rights, you might want to look into his troubled history. So far we’ve yet to hear from Alan Moore for his take on the character’s new home.

In other news:

Joss Whedon scored high ponts this year with Dollhouse‘s unaired episode “Epitaph One.” (which the rest of us will have to wait for the DVD to see, unless you’ve already pulled down the leaked version from the ether of the internets).

The throngs were also impressed by the new clips from Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are as well as the film’s star Max Records who spoke about his character and working on the film.

It seems some are so impressed with the 24 minutes of Avatar they’ve been shown the words Cameron and Oscar are being bandied about all willy-nilly.

More to come.
