Okay, Karl Malden‘s death isn’t going to garner the attention of Michael Jackson or even Farrah Fawcett, but the actor worked for more than 60 years in movies and television before passing away earlier today at the age of 97.

His career highlights included The Sting, Patton, The Streets of San Fransisco, The Cincinnati Kid, Pollyanna, How the West Was Won, Skag, On the Waterfront, Meteor, The West Wing, Captain Courageous, and A Streetcar Named Desire (for which he took home an Oscar). Those who can remember back to the 1970’s might also recall Malden for his series of famous “Don’t leave home without it!” American Express commercials.

G’night Karl, you had a good run.
