Here’s a cheerful little clip to put a little joy in your Friday: “I’d Rather Dance With You“, from the previously unknown-to-me indie popsters, Kings of Convenience. Ah, Norwegians! Will you never cease to delight and entertain me?

I’ll admit that in this case I’m far more fond of the video than the song*, but it intrigued me enough to track down their releases “Riot on an Empty Street” (2001) and “Quiet is the New Loud” (2004). As a sucker for low-key, acoustic pop, I have to say that I rather dig them both. And hooray! They’ll be releasing their third album (yes, yes, I know they put out a remix album so technically it’ll be their fourth) in September.

A kindly thanks to the honorable Chris Cantwell for the find.

*Not to say that “I’d Rather Dance With You” is a bad track, but for some reason a lot of the instrumentation seems a bit tacked on and unnecessary.

Feist is all about this band. I think she was even on one or two of their albums.

Great song. And I say that while being someone who doesn’t into stuff this quiet very easily.

I’d agree the video is better than the song, but it’s all good and catchy enough for a listen or three.

And that was some interesting grammar Sparkle. How early did you start drinking today?

It’s not that he started early, he just never stopped.
