So I was driving back to work yesterday from a screening and was struck by a terrible, terrible idea. You know, the kind you get from nowhere and then can’t get out of your head.
To set the scene, I was listening to a sports radio discussion of whether fans should be allowed to vote in the starters of the All-Star Game. For some reason my brain jumped to the Oscars changing up their policy to include 10 movies in the Best Film category.
And here’s my horrible, awful thought: What if the Oscars, like the All-Star Game starters, were decided by the votes of fans? You know, those same people that dropped $200 million into Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in only five days without a thought.
Can you imagine?
Oh, the humanity!
