Why are the British so much better than us Americans when it comes to 60s-flavored retro pop a la Phil Spector? Here’s the Noisettes doing “Never Forget You” from their newest album, Wild Young Hearts.

    I’d say the answer is that our pals across the pond know how to look back at that period of songwriting with a decidedly un-ironic eye, which makes layering on a modern sensibility actually work without seeming gimmicky.

    Hot damn, that’s a good tune.
