Ricky Gervais‘ new comedy “The Invention of Lying” (opening this weekend) made me think about his little-seen movie from last year called “Ghost Town.” It was a terrific little film that embraced sentimentality yet didn’t fall into all the cliched traps of most modern romantic comedies. That started me thinking about other films from the past five years that either were unfairly bashed in the press, underperformed at the box office, or simply disappeared without a trace soon after they were released.
What I ended up with is a pretty exciting list of movies that you may want to think about renting soon. (Chances are, they are probably on the 99-cent shelf by now, so there’s not much risk involved.) Click here to read the Top 10 Overlooked Movies of the Last Five Years.
