good night george tuskaThose of us at the ‘buddha offices were saddened to hear of the death of comic artist George Tuska who passed away at the age of 93.

Although his career spanned 70 years he’s remembered most fondly for his work in the Silver Age of Marvel Comics in the 60’s and 70’s.

Over his career Tuska worked on titles such as Sub-Mariner, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, and DC titles like Superman, Superboy, and Teen Titans.

Tuska is also credited with fleshing out the character of Luke Cage during his time as artist on Luke Cage, Hero for Hire.

And If you’ve read an Iron Man comic published between 1968 and 1978 there’s more than a good chance you’ve enjoyed Tuska’s art.

You can see a small sampling of his work here.

Thanks for the memories, George, ‘specially those classic Iron Man panels.
