I might feel a tad insulted with the artist’s take on how Americans see the map of Europe if I didn’t see more than a smidgen of truth in the design.
how we see the world
You know, I understand what he’s going for here, but it’s really a map of how woefully ignorant Americans see the world, and I really don’t think that represents the majority of us. Even people that are relatively uneducated in general are aware of their own lack of knowledge on the outside world and don’t make such generalizations. It’s the people militant, fanatic, and overly proud of their stupidity that would envision such a map. Those are the people that get on TV because they’re entertaining, rather than, let’s say, a quite farmer who would say “I don’t really know much about that.”
I’m sure if this artist made similar maps of the worlds ignorant masses, we’d have equally moronic ideas coming from ALL countries.
