All of us here around the office were saddened to hear that Elisabeth Sladen, best known for her role as Sarah Jane Smith on Doctor Who, passed away at the age of 63 after a long battle with cancer. She remains one of my favorite Doctor Who companions of all-time. G’night, Sarah Jane. You will be missed.

Sarah Jane will always be *the* companion to me. She was such a staple of my childhood exposure to Doctor Who that I can’t possibly separate her from the concept.

    G’night, our Sarah Jane.

Ditto on that… lovely and innocent and spunky. She defined the Companion role. Everyone has “their” Doctor. Tom Baker was “my” Doctor and Sarah Jane/Elisabeth Sladen was my Companion. Taken too soon.
