An inventive third option to viewing the complete Star Wars saga

What’s the best way to watch the complete Star Wars saga? Start with the original trilogy and then move on to the prequels? Watch the prequels first? Neither way seems completely satisfying. Credit goes to our Four Color Freak-Out pal (and Dessert Burger entrepreneur) Bobby Bierley who discovered this unusual third option while surfing the net for recipes that combine crème brûlée and shepard’s pie – The Machete Order (Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, and finally Return of the Jedi).

I’ve got to say I’m intrigued by the idea of watching them in this order (even if it does completely dump Episode I but still forces me to watch the inferior Episode II). The author does a good job explaining why this order works better as well as admitting to problematic elements which arise from viewing the films in this order. What do you think?
