This teaser for Despicable Me 2 hit the trailers last week (sans any information as to what the plot of the movie will be). Are the minions cute? Sure. Does this do anything to make me more excited about the sequel? No, not really.

Their marketing is par for course with this ‘franchise’. The first two trailers for the original film had little to explain about the plot – basically, “look at our cute guys, our crisp clean animation, and legion of big name voices!” And, surprisingly, it worked. Now they can do even less marketing for the next one.
