While investigating a murder of a minimum wage day laborer working at an animal expo the team uncovers illegal animal trafficking. And, in one of the more bizarre B-stories the series has ever proposed (and that’s saying something for this show), Bones (Emily Deschanel) spends her spare time obsessing over a possible future run for President of the United States.

After identifying the victim, the team investigates his ex-wife (Heather Mazur) and her new boyfriend (Drew Rausch), the owner of the pet expo (Brian McNamara), and local farmers and animal buffs. The team also discovers that the victim was not only shot and dumped in the road, but he was already dying from blood poisoning from being attacked by a Siberian tiger. To discover which one of the local farmers might be keeping exotic pets like tigers, Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) puts a camera on a radio controlled hobby plane to create the Jeffersonian its own makeshift satellite.

Booth and Bones’ argument of the scientist’s odd new obsession isn’t the only relationship issue in this week’s episode. Angela (Michaela Conlin) becomes discouraged when Hodgins is initially more helpful in determining the identity of the victim than her facial recognition, and Sweets (John Francis Daley) starts having cold feet on the eve of Daisy (Carla Gallo) moving in with him which ends the episode, and relationship, in an awkward farewell.
