As Ultra Mangus (Michael Ironside) leads Wheeljack (James Horan), Bulkhead (Kevin Michael Richardson), and Miko (Tania Gunadi) to stop the Decepticons from retrieving more remains of Predacons for Shockwave (David Sobolov) to clone, Megatron (Frank Welker) is pleasantly surprised by the return of the Predacon he thought destroyed. Learning its his responsiblity to train and take care of, however, Starscream (Steve Blum) is somewhat less pleased.
When the three Aubots find themselves deep underground trapped with the Predacon who Megatron has sent to secure the latest fossil, Ultra Magnus sends Miko to call for help as Optimus Prime’s first lieutenant and the Wreckers are forced to take on the Predacon by themselves. Although the group makes it out alive, the Predacon retreives the specimen and returns it to the Decepticons.
“Chain of Command” has its moments, such as Miko stealing the Apex Armor away from Starscream and doing justice to her honorary role as a Wrecker. It will be interesting to see if Miko will be allowed to keep the artifact and kick more Decepticon butt in the remaining episodes. Starscream’s weak attempts to train and control the Predacon are also quite entertaining. Sadly, it looks as if Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack’s personality clash hits its peak as Wheeljack heads off on his own as the episode comes to a close.
