Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Shaw (Sarah Shahi) work together to protect the latest number, a data broker (David Alan Basche) who mines and sells information on consumers to big business who has just become the target of someone systematically destroying his life including using his company’s former victims whose publicly-aired dirty laundry destroyed each of their lives.

After destroying his marriage, stealing his fortune, and taking away the company he founded, the man’s unseen enemy begins making direct attacks on the man’s life including hacking an elevator and later his car. Despite the effort the group expends to keep the man safe, the unapologetic number, who cares far more about money than his own safety, breaks a bottle of wine over Finch‘s (Michael Emerson) head to escape his protective custody and attend a business meeting his attacker (Gary Basaraba) knows all about.

The episode B-story involves Carter (Taraji P. Henson) getting a new partner (Brian Wiles) who is far more excited about the situation than she is. “Nothing to Hide” offers a number who Shaw correctly questions whether or not the man actually deserves to be saved. It also gives us a first glimpse at a new enemy in the shadowy organization who have taken it upon themselves to offer a lesson to those like the latest number, in both the private sector and the government, whose failure to respect a right to privacy has made their list and earned a deadly lesson similar to what he has just received.
