The latest episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles not only brings back Tiger Claw (Eric Bauza) but also will finally force Karai (Kelly Hu) to deal with the truth of her parentage. Out for revenge, Tiger Claw beings attacking friends of the Turtles starting with Casey Jones (Josh Peck) and Mr. Murakami (Sab Shimono). Playing on the sympathies of April (Mae Whitman) and Leonardo (Jason Biggs), Karai tricks the Turtles into bringing her into their secret lair planning to lead Tiger Claw straight to them.
Only after being confronted with proof that Splinter (Hoon Lee) is her real father does Karai admit the deception and attempt to undo the damage by leading Tiger Claw away from the lair and fighting alongside the Turtles against the beast. Neither Tiger Claw nor the Shredder (Kevin Michael Richardson) is pleased with her betrayal, and with Michelangelo (Greg Cipes) severely injured the Turtles are unable to save Karai.
Offering the return of Tiger Claw and a major turning point for Karai, yet still keeping her in the control of the Shredder and the Foot as a prisoner, the fallout from “The Wrath of Tiger Claw” will likely be felt for several episodes to come. Will Karai eventually take her place alongside the Turtles? Or will their failure to rescue her, and more time under Shredder’s control make her turn back from the hard-fought path back to honor and family?
