icking up immediately following the events of last week’s episode, Liv (Rose McIver) struggles with the realization that Blaine (David Anders) is responsible for the city’s high body count among the homeless to feed his meals-on-wheels campaign for zombies and the fact that her new boyfriend is a valued customer. Ingesting the brains of a former military sniper inspires Liv to permanently remove Blaine from the equation but when it comes time to pull the trigger Liv’s moral code outweighs the borrowed brain’s influence.

While struggling with relationship issues and her attempts to help Detective Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin), Liv also has to deal with zombie PTSD (which I expected the show to do more with once it introduced the concept) and a desire to kick-ass on the paintball course where the victim met his end. Although the crime is solved Liv’s love life takes an enormous hit leaving the zombie psychic medical examiner alone once again while her former beau Major‘s (Robert Buckley) investigation leads him down a false trail that nearly gets him killed and puts him one-step closer to discovering the truth when the intruder he shoots manages to walk out of the apartment before Babineaux arrives.

Lowell’s (Bradley James) death, brought on entirely by Liv forcing him to take a stand against Blaine, is likely to be the catalyst for a showdown between the pair heading into the season’s final few episodes. Ravi (Rahul Kohli) reaction to not being turned after being bitten by the zombie rat is entertaining as is the guest-appearance by another Veronica Mars alumn Percy Daggs III who has a small role as a drone-wielding murderer.
