Sorry folks, but I’m fighting off a nasty cold that’s really knocked me out. It may take a couple of days, but there will be some new posts and reviews on the way after I get back on my feet.

We’re throwing some birthday love Shadowstalker’s way today as our old pal turns 65!* Knowing your wishes we’ve already ordered your Complete First Season of My Little Pony and Midgets Versus Mascots and our pal Bobby is working on a very special birthday cake (I believe it’s fried cinnamon streusel with mincemeat and bubblegum filling). I’m sure they will provide hours of fun and entertainment for your entire family!

*I might be off by a year or two, but it’s the thought that counts.

The Dad’s Big Plan offices have been crazy today as we set out to celebrate the birthdays of both alphamonkey and our (now 40 year-old) pal Eric. Fun times… except for the unfortunate incident that occurred in the inflatable Spider-Man bounce house which will never be spoken of again.

Today we’ll sprinkle in some extra Thunder God posts to go with our regular dose of awesome to help get you ready for the premiere of Thor on the big screen tomorrow. We’ll have multiple reviews for you, in a couple of different formats, so make sure you come back on Friday to see what we thought of the film, too. Enough with the prelude, enjoy Thor Thursday, or “Thorsday” if you prefer.

Any fans of Pixar Cars who happen to be around Kansas City should make their way down to Crown Center today when the “Agents on a Mission” tour sponsored by State Farm Insurance hits downtown KC – complete with life-size remote control models of Lightning McQueen, Mater and new character Finn McMissile. If you’re not in KC don’t worry, the tour will run through June, hitting cities throughout North America and racing through the red-carpet premiere in Los Angeles before wrapping up in San Francisco and Sonoma, CA. More pics and info after the jump.

Just sayin’ there’s still time if you really care.

Okay, I’ve never been to California’s LEGOLAND, but the news of a permanent Star Wars Miniland area makes me want to make the trip. If this image of a freakin’ huge LEGO Millennium Falcon doesn’t make you want to go then I’m not sure I want to know you.

You’ll have to forgive us if we limp our way into 2011. Teh ‘monkey is lost in the Ohio wilderness, lintly is busy writing love letters to Jason Statham, Sparkle is counting down the seconds until he can see Country Strong, Shadow is still “experimenting” on the inflatable sheep he got for Christmas, and I’m still recovering from dental surgery I had on the 31st (Best New Year’s Ever!). To help you feel my pain here’s a little dental-inspired goodness thanks to Steve Martin and Little Shop of Horrors.

We couldn’t end the day without sending some birthday love to Mr. Sparkle who turns 12 today. Don’t worry Sparkle, the complete DVD collection of My Little Pony you had on your Amazon wish list is on the way. Coincidently today is also marks the birth of lintly’s bundle of joy, Xander (too bad you couldn’t get the Misses sold on the name “Megatron”). We’ve got a truckload of diapers on the way (a garbage truck of used diapers, but it’s the thought that counts, right?). Congrats!
