Ant-Man marks a departure for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the exception of Guardians of the Galaxy, which takes place deep in outer space and far from the films that feed into The Avengers movies, every Marvel project to this point has centered around a classic Marvel character that fits a rather well-used pre-designed Silver Age mold. Rather than center another film around a genius scientist turned hero, Ant-Man casts Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) as the weathered former hero choosing instead to focus the plot of the movie on his less straight-laced successor Scott Lang (Paul Rudd).

The first full-length trailer for Ant-Man starring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas offers a bit more of the plot of the upcoming film along with the first look at the movie’s villain Yellowjacket (Corey Stoll) including a fight between the pair inside a Thomas the Train playset. Hayley Atwell, Evangeline Lilly, and Judy Greer also star. Ant-Man opens in theaters on July 17th.

Long in development hell, Ant-Man starring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas is finally making his way to the big screen this summer. Hayley Atwell, Evangeline Lilly, Judy Greer, and Corey Stoll also star. The first trailer hit the Internet with mixed reaction from fans but this fan re-edited trailer (which you can find inside) offers a bit more excitement for a project that many are suggesting may be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first major misstep but we’ll have to wait until July 17th when the film hits theaters to decide for ourselves.

Okay, it may not be quite as good as an actual teaser trailer, but this bootleg footage of the test reel for director Edgar Wright‘s upcoming 2015 Ant-Man originally shown at Comic-Con is an intriguing first look at one of Marvel Studios upcoming properties.
