Holy crap, it *is* Friday! And that means it’s time to wander through the pop culture apocalypse with Aaron, Alan, and Bobby as they take on the week in comics, that little thing called the Avengers trailer, and Alan’s sick obsession with duck-themed comics.

To the batpoles, people! This one goes ALL the way down through the bottom of the barrel that is New 52 Week 4. Kick Ass makes us hate life, and we’re a bit gobsmacked that Aquaman brought the most fun to an otherwise really depressing week in comics. Join alphamonkey and the Cap’n for a traipse through the broken dreams of our soggy pull box!

Awwwwww, yeah! It’s DC’s New 52: Part Deux! We relieve the horror of Torchwood’s finale, and sing the praises of last week’s Doctor Who. Also: Thor still kicks ass (and Chris Hemsworth is mega-dreamy). Find out what sucked and what ruled this week in comics, or listen just to hear alphamonkey consider Green Lantern #1 one of the best of the week!

C’mon, it’s not like you’re going to get any work done today… Listen below or via iTunes

This week on the Four Color Freak-Out the Cap’n and alphamonkey take a look at the bittersweet pentultimate issues of some of our favorite comics from Simone, Miller, and more, as well an irreverent traipse through two pretty damn good weeks of comics. Plus Torchwood: Miracle Day, and discuss why digital distribution might be the only thing that saves comics (provided it’s done right).

Give a listen already, will ya?

Note: We *totally* overlooked the very, very excellent Captain America #1 from Ed Brubaker and Steve McNiven. It’s gorgeous, it’s clever, and you need to read it.

Yes indeed, true (and not-so-true) believers. It’s another edition of the Four Color Freakout, and this time around Mr Sparkle (aka Ian McFarland) joins us to talk about the unexpected goodness that is X-Men: First Class (and why you must, must, must see what is easily the best true X-Men film to date), along with our reactions to DC’s announcement that it’s rebooting the DCU at the end of Flashpoint. Plus the Cap’n tries to make me cry by blowing the ending to Fear Itself #3.

Get your listenin’ shoes on and spend some time with three nerdy guys in a room with microphones already!

Super thanks to Eric Melin and the boys of Ultimate Fakebook for giving us the go-ahead to use the amazing “Popscotch Party Rock” as our de-facto theme song. If you dig it (and like all right thinking people, you will) by all means look ’em up on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Alright, so I totally dropped the ball on getting this up in a timely manner (due to a rather ill-conceived decision to reload my OS), but here it is – Episode 3 of the Four Color Freak-Out. Join myself, our own Cap’n Carrot, and our good pal Bobby Bierley as we chat up the last two weeks in comics, the death of Smallville (and apparently *all* superheroics on TV), and assorted brik-a-brak.
