Based on a story by The Last Airbender‘s M. Night Shyamalan and directed by the Dowdle Brothers comes this new thriller about a group of people stuck in an elevator with the Devil. Sound ridiculous? Probably, but the fact that the film was rescued from its original February opening and moved to September may mean there is some fun to be had. Take a look:
I was a fan of Reaper, especially the first season. For those of you who don’t know the story: On his 21st birthday Sam (Bret Harrison) learns that his parents sold his soul to the Devil (Ray Wise), who has come to collect. Now Sam now is forced to work as a bounty hunter for the Devil, capturing escaped souls, often with the help of his best friends Sock (Tyler Labine) and Ben (Rick Gonzalez), while attempting to hide his new responsibilities from his longtime crush Andi (Missy Peregrym). Hulu has the entire first season available online. See if this clip from “Cash Out” involving Sam’s burgeoning relationship with a woman (Jessica Stroup) who may, or may not, be the spawn of Satan can tempt you to start at the beginning.
