Ignoring orders to return to Oa and needing a new weapon in their war with the Manhunters, Hal Jordan (Josh Keaton), Kilowog (Kevin Michael Richardson), and Razer (Jason Spisak) set off for the planet Okaara in search of the Orange Lantern Power Battery. However, the battery is protected by Larfleeze (Dee Bradley Baker) – the universe’s only Orange Lantern who really, really doesn’t like to share.

After discovering another Manhunter bunker with fellow Honor Guard GL Tomar-Re (Jeff Bennett), Hal Jordan (Josh Keaton) puts the old band together to search out the identity of whoever is controlling the former soldiers of the Guardians of the Universe. After recruiting Kilowog (Kevin Michael Richardson) and reacquiring the use of the Interceptor, the two Lanterns (with the help of one of Kilowog’s latest recruits) rescue Aya (Grey DeLisle) from dissection in the Oa science lab. The group then heads to the planet Biot which Tomar-Re believes the is the source of the signal reactivating and controlling the Manhunters.

Check out this clip (courtesy of CBR) from the opening episode of Green Lantern: The Animated Series which premieres this Friday on Cartoon Network. The cartoon centers around the adventures of Earth’s greatest Green Lantern Hal Jordan (Josh Keaton) and the Green Lantern Corps. I’m still wary of CGI look to the series but I have to say I’m impressed that it looks like they’ve allowed Hal to stay the cocky S.O.B. we’ve come to love over the years.
