There’s a full cast of characters when both Josie and the Pussycats and the Archies travel to Tokyo for a concert with the other band from Riverdale set to be the Pussycats’ opening act. Although it’s a bit of a struggle to find room for everyone, there are some fun moments here including Val and Veronica bonding over clothes. The trouble starts, however, when the comic begins to fracture that hard-won peace between Josie and Alexandra.

Teased at the end of the previous issue, Josie and the Pussycats #6 involves Josie, Melody, and Val being arrested for plagiarism. Of course the people who take them aren’t actually police. And the place they are taken isn’t exactly a police station. Blaming Josie for his sister’s unhappiness, Alexander abducts the Pussycats and takes the to his Antarctic hideaway to stand trial for crimes against his family.

Returned from their concert in Rome, Josie and the Pussycats are back in the United States on the state fair circuit where Josie is still trying to get over the Alan M. debacle and the band struggles with losing their chance at a record deal when a child prodigy steals their spotlight. An already emotional Josie goes a bit crazy while Val considers leaving the group once again.

The music stardom of Josie and the Pussycats gets off to an inglorious start as Josie, Val, and Mel hit the road for their first concert outside of Riverdale. Excited to be a traveling band for the first time, the girls get a rude awakening when their first show turns out to be a dive bar full of bikers and criminals who attempt to trick the band into agreeing to stay indefinitely almost ending the Pussycats’ journey before it even gets started.
