Jason Statham stars as Donald Westlake‘s Parker, a career criminal and anti-hero who keeps to his own code and often, as in this case of this adaptation of Westlake’s novel Flashfire, has to fight for what’s owed him after being double-crossed on the latest score. Statham isn’t the first actor to portray Westlake’s character (Lee Marvin, Jim Brown, Robert Duvall, Peter Coyote, Mel Gibson all played character over the years), but Parker is the first where the title character keeps the name.

You’ll have to forgive us if we limp our way into 2011. Teh ‘monkey is lost in the Ohio wilderness, lintly is busy writing love letters to Jason Statham, Sparkle is counting down the seconds until he can see Country Strong, Shadow is still “experimenting” on the inflatable sheep he got for Christmas, and I’m still recovering from dental surgery I had on the 31st (Best New Year’s Ever!). To help you feel my pain here’s a little dental-inspired goodness thanks to Steve Martin and Little Shop of Horrors.

Knowing lintly’s super-sized man-crush on Jason Statham we share with you the trailer for his new flick where he stars as a damn machine of an assassin who needs to help the damn disappointment of a son (Ben Foster) of an old friend (Donald Sutherland) help avenge his father’s death. The flick is a damned remake of the 1972 movie of the same name starring Charles Bronson and Jan-Michael Vincent. You can start looking for the new version in theaters next January.

I’m posting this trailer for lintly, whose man-crush on Jason Statham is well-known around the office. In Blitz someone is hunting down and killing cops on the streets of London. The police assign their best man (Statham) to cause mindless mayhem solve the case. David Morrissey, Paddy Considine, and Luke Evans also star. Expect the movie to blitz into theaters sometime early next year.
