Mr. Sparkle and I attended a screening of the new Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan version of The Karate Kid last night. The Onion’s AV Club and Starbucks have teamed up for a 25 band covers project in which each band gets to pick one of 25 covers, with each subsequent band choosing from the remainder (I can’t wait to see who gets stuck with The Beach Boys’ Kokomo), but first out of the gate was Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, who tackled Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”:

If the rest of them are even half as good as this, it’ll be a CD I will happily pick up.
