Monkees fans around the world let out a collective sob when news hit the interwebs that Davy Jones was pronounced dead of an apparent heart attack earlier this morning. Although best known for his role as The Monkees frontman, Jones went on to have a successful theater career as well as popping up in various cameo roles in television and movies over the years. In 2008 Yahoo named Jones the #1 Teen Idol of all-time. I know I’m bummed (yes, I own an autographed copy of the man’s autobiography), but I can only speculate how longtime Transbuddha contributor ZolarCzakl is taking the news.
