Wilco stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to perform not one but two songs last night. Here’s” Laminated Cat” and you can find “Art of Almost” after the jump.

The video for “Dawned on Me,” the first song of Wilco‘s new record The Whole Love, features a familiar face you should recognize. Directed by Darren Romanelli, this collaboration with King Features presents the first hand-drawn Popeye cartoon in more than 30 years. Wilco + Popeye? Oh yeah!

In less than a week Wilco will release an iTunes session with new versions of five songs from their latest album, The Whole Love, a couple of the band’s older tracks, and the band’s take on “Cruel to Be Kind” (featuring Nick Lowe). As yet I haven’t been able to find any of the new versions online (and the iTunes hates me), so you’ll have to do with an original, at least until January 24th.

Fans of Wilco, which you know we are, should take a couple minutes to check out “I Might,” the first single from thier new album The Whole Love. The song comes to us by way of the Great Sound Bank who today posted our pal Eric’s all-time favorite list including Queen, Big Star, KISS, Marvin Gaye, Cheap Trick… but sadly no Bon Jovi. What’s up with that? Anyway, enjoy Wilco’s new single:

Vimeo I love you. Here’s Dad’s Big Plan favorite Wilco performing “I Am Trying To Break Your Heart” in a live performance. As to where this is from, I’ll defer to teh ‘monkey who places this as part of Kicking Television: Live in Chicago back in 2005.

One of my favorite songs from the new Wilco album is “You Never Know,” and I was surprised to hear them play it on the new “Tonight Show” the other night. Earlier this year on “The Colbert Report,” the Chicago-based band played “Wilco (the song),” which one would think would be the single, since it’s from “Wilco (the album),” so this was an unexpected treat. Jeff Tweedy and the boys are all dressed up in Nudie suits, a la Flying Burrito Brothers. If you aren’t familiar with either the suits or the Burritos, click the links for more tasty goodness. Here’s another awesome Burritos song too.
